Cancellation Policy

1. No Subscriptions to Cancel

221b is currently offered free of charge with no subscriptions, accounts, or recurring payments. There is nothing to cancel.

You may use 221b for as long as you like and stop using it at any time without any obligation or notification required.

2. How to Stop Using 221b

To stop using 221b:

1. Uninstall the Software: Remove 221b from your device using your operating system's standard uninstall process.
2. Delete Local Data (Optional): If you wish to remove your session data, delete the 221b data folder from your device. All data is stored locally, so this permanently removes it.

That's it! No cancellation forms, fees, or waiting periods.

3. Removing Your Email from the Waitlist

If you joined our waitlist but no longer wish to receive updates:

1. Email Us: Send a removal request to contact@221beacon.com
2. Include Your Email: Specify the email address you wish to remove
3. Processing Time: We will remove your email within 48 hours

Once removed, you will no longer receive emails from 221b.

4. Future Subscription Cancellations

If we introduce paid subscriptions in the future, this Cancellation Policy will be updated to include:

• Subscription cancellation process
• Cancellation deadlines and effective dates
• Refund eligibility for cancelled subscriptions
• Access continuation after cancellation
• Data retention after cancellation

5. What Happens to Your Data

5.1 Local Session Data

When you uninstall 221b, your local session data may remain on your device depending on your operating system and uninstall method.

To completely remove all data:

• Locate the 221b data directory on your device
• Manually delete the folder and all contents
• Empty your trash/recycle bin

5.2 Waitlist Email

If you joined our waitlist, your email address remains in our database unless you request removal (see Section 3 above). Uninstalling the Software does not automatically remove your email.

6. No Cancellation Fees or Penalties

There are no fees or penalties for stopping use of 221b:

• No cancellation fees (now or in the future)
• No early termination penalties
• No retention periods or notice requirements
• No loss of data you've already exported

You are free to reinstall and use 221b again at any time.

7. Third-Party Platform Cancellations

If you obtain 221b through a third-party platform in the future (e.g., app stores), cancellation procedures for subscriptions purchased through those platforms will follow their policies:

• App Store (iOS/macOS): Cancel through your Apple ID subscriptions settings
• Google Play (Android): Cancel through Google Play subscriptions
• Other Platforms: Refer to their cancellation procedures

221b does not control or process cancellations for third-party purchases.
